bay leaf

The bay leaf is an aromatic leaf that is both used whole, dried and ground. Bay leaf come from many plants, like the Bay laurel Laurus nobilis, California bay leaf Umbellularia californica and Malabathrum Cinnamomum tamala. Fresh or dried bay leaves are used in cooking for their distinctive flavour and fragrance.
