canola oil
Canola oil, also known as rapeseed oil, is a vegetable oil developed in the 70's from several cultivars of plants in the Brassicaceae family (Brassica napus, Brassica rapa or Brassica juncea). Canola oil is high in monounsaturated fats, has low levels of saturated fat and a neutral flavor due to low levels of erucic acid. In plantbased diet, it's a good source of Omega-3's. Canola oil, as is the case for most cooking oils, isn't essential to good health and should be used sparingly.
